Award-winning playwright and author Larry Kramer will give a talk and sign copies of his book, The American People (10/28)

His groundbreaking play about the AIDS crisis, The Normal Heart, won the 2011 Tony Award for best revival of a play. Additionally, the HBO adaptation of the play won the Emmy Award for outstanding television movie in 2014.

Through her activism and scholarship over the last decades, Davis has been deeply involved in the nation’s quest for social justice. Her work as an educator emphasizes the importance of building communities of struggle for economic, racial, and gender equality.

Social Justice Dialogues: Analyzing White Supremacy and Gender

Join Campus Life student interns from the ALANA Center, International Student Services, LGBTQ Center, Religious & Spiritual Life and Women's Center and administrators for an afternoon of interactive exercises, personal storytelling and structural analysis to delve into discussions on how white supremacy affects women differently, and what opportunities and barriers there are for coalition-building between women of different races. Privilege Campaign II is an installation of photo portraits featuring Vassar College administrators and students, who share their thoughts on dominant privileges and reflections on not having access to privilege. Now in its second year, this project seeks to create greater dialogue and awareness around issues of identity, community, privilege, power and how different groups experience our campus and the world beyond Vassar.

For first year students only. This initiative is dedicated to building a sense of community specifically for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and ally first year students. Our goal is to spark many different kinds of conversations about identity and community, and encourage incoming students to keep the conversation going throughout their time at Vassar.
